The children's burns unit was the first of its kind when it opened in 1953. Today it is the largest specialist burns unit in the country.
Patrons help to spread Christmas cheer
Patrons and celebrity supporters of the charity recently joined our chairman Maurice Watkins on a visit to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Patrons including John Thomson, George Sampson, Mike Toolan, Terri Dwyer and Suzanne and Cole Page visited wards to hand out gifts that had kindly been donated by the Disney Store in Manchester Arndale.
After presenting patients with gifts, the stars chatted with them and their families before posing for photogrpahs for the patients to keep as a momento.
