Treatment
Currently your donation will be providing state-of the-art equipment by supporting the following projects.
Hydrotherapy Pool - cost £150,000
![]() |
We would like to ensure that our first class paediatric Hydrotherapy area, which helps a child’s rehabilitation and recovery, is provided in a child friendly environment that can help to speed recovery and lessen the stress associated with being ill.
We want to make the hydrotherapy pool area more child friendly using visual and audio techniques from water and aquarium themed art work to sound art. Providing rehabilitation in a less clinical environment will aid a child in their treatment making it more interactive and improving the delivery of care to children with complex medical and social needs.
With the help of charitable donations we will be able to equip this area with the latest therapeutic lighting, visuals and sound technology.
The cost of ensuring our young patients benefit even more from this specialised treatment in a less clinical environment is £150,000.
Mobile CT Scanner -
A number of children being treated with in our critical care department may have problems affecting their brain, such as a head injury, which requires recurrent CT Scans to guide the management of their condition.
Moving critical and unwell patients to the main CT scanner located in the radiology department can prove difficult or impossible, as a patient’s condition may be too unstable to be moved. Providing a mobile CT scanner that can be brought to a child’s bedside will be of huge benefit to the patient as not only will it allow for patients to be scanned in the safety of the critical care area but it will help to provide highly important information without delay.
To make a difference to our critically ill patients, by providing the latest state-of-the-art mobile CT scanner, will cost £200,000.
Care
Children’s Garden – cost £200,000

The cost of providing this garden would be £200,000.
Clown Doctors – cost £10,100 per clown doctor
Clown doctors engage with a child in a variety of ways with the main aim of allowing the child to be a child – they look for the mischief, the curiosity and the desire to play and help a child to relax.

The cost of three clown doctors visiting the hospital for a year is £30,300.
