Many Hands Award Winner Announced

The winner of the Many Hands Campaign Award was announced at our final event held at the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester.

The five shortlisted companies (Brother UK, Blemain Group, Sat Nav Warehouse, Hugh Joseph McCarthy Solicitors and Gary Chaplin) all pitched to Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis and the judging panel that included Maurice Watkins, Chairman of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, Chris Barry of thebusinessdesk.com, Kath Martin from sponsors Montpelier Chartered Accountants and leading business coach Nick Robinson.

It was a fantastic evening hosted by Gordon Burns and after the five brilliant pitches and short Q & A session with Theo the winner was announced as……Gary Chaplin. Apart from the Chapmpage received on the night Gary will also receive one day’s free training and coaching from leading business coach, Nick Robinson as well as time with Theo.

Final event details announced

We are pleased to announce that our final ‘Many Hands’ event will take place on 2 February at the Castlefield Rooms (above Dukes 92 in Castlefield).

Starting at 6.30pm with drinks and canapés, the evening will be hosted by Gordon Burns. Theo Paphitis will also be there on the night to help us celebrate the achievements of the last 12 months and to judge our Many Hands Award.

Breakfast networking opportunity

Pedal Power

A big well done to Gary Chaplin and the cyclists who completed their 210 mile bike ride from London to Manchester last weekend.

Humphrey, the charity mascot, enjoyed welcoming all the riders bike to Manchester Velodrome and applauding their determination to help make a difference.

It was a fantastic effort and word is that their pedal power has already raised over £10k for the Many Hands Campaign.

We have received our first entry to the Many Hands Awards.

William Ritchie Ltd Hits £1k Target

Stewart McCombe’s firm William Ritchie Ltd has hit the £1k target for the Many Hands Campaign, but tells us he isn’t stopping there!

William Ritchie is offering a day’s consulting to up to 10 SME’s in the Manchester area who will donate a minimum £100 to the campaign to raise even more for the children’s hospital in the second half of the Many Hands Campaign.

Stewart told us, “As a family, raising money for the charity has always been important, and the Many Hands Campaign has been the perfect opportunity to include my business as well. Theo said that we should have fun in our businesses when fundraising, and I am certainly doing that. I am now looking forward to spending time with local businesses as part of my continued fundraising initiatives.” Stewart went on to say “I would encourage any businesses that may still be considering joining up to the Many Hands Campaign to do so as soon as possible. It provides an opportunity to engage with your network, a reason to make contact, which could lead to future business opportunities.”

Last night at the Marketing Society Northern Awards they picked up the Consumer Durable award for their ‘Manchester Celebrates Jaguar’ campaign.

Phil Jones Talks CSR

Last night Phil Jones, Brother UK’s Sales and Marketing Director, took to the floor at the Many Hands Campaign Event to say a few words on the benefits of CSR.
