Greater Manchester Marathon
After a 10 year absence the Greater Manchester Marathon brings the ultimate running challenge back to Manchester!
On the 29th April 2012 thousands of runners will take part in the 26 mile 385 yard course, which will take in some key landmarks and beautiful countryside around the borough of Trafford.
The course is one of the flattest in the world, so is great for anyone looking to do their first marathon, or for those looking to set a new personal best time.
The race starts at 9am, in Stretford’s Longford Park. All runners will receive a race pack from the marathon organisers, aswell as a disposable running chip so your time can be accurately recorded at various stages of the run.
If you have already signed up for this great event and would like to use your place to raise money for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity, please contact the charity office on 0161 276 4404/4522 to receive your free fundraising pack, including t-shirt to wear on race day! Make sure you come along to our marquee in the charity village where we will be giving out free drinsk and snacks to our runners - we want to say a big thank you to Sainsbury's in Salford for kindly donating all the goodies!
For more information contact Clare on 0161 276 4404 or clare.mcmanmon@cmft.nhs.uk
Our charity cheering point will be on Edge Lane, in front of Bricktop Hairdresses, next to Stretford Metro Stop. This is a fantastic location reserved just for us, and is right by the finish line and charity village in Longford Park! All of our supporters and being encouraged to go along to our cheering point to support our runners - we will have banners, balloons, whistles and flags and we would love for you to join us from midday onwards!
