ways to donate - gift aid

Gift Aid allows Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity to make your donation go even further.

If you are a UK tax-payer we can claim back the tax you have already paid on your donations. The extra income comes straight
from the government, so you can increase your donations at no cost to yourself. Tax claimed by the charity works as follows:

  • The charity will reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 you gave up to 5 April 2008.
  • The charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 you give on or after 6 April 2008.
  • The Government will pay the charity an additional 3p on every £1 you give between
6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011.  The transitional relief for the charity does not affect
    your personal tax position.

To qualify for Gift Aid what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must be at least equal to the amount  we claim
in the tax year.

If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return if you want
to receive the additional tax relief due to you.

You can download a Gift Aid form here. Please complete the form and return it to
